Life's a Beach

Remember when that phrase was so witty? Yeah, neither do I.
Today was an important day...it was Kelly's 1st day at the beach! Granted, she'll be there about 10 more times before her 1st birthday in August, but since I'm a scrapbooker, this is a big event. Most of our ward from church reserve campsites at the beach every Memorial Day weekend. Being as how Jehremy and I are *not* the camping type, we prefer to just go up for the day and enjoy everyone's company, then drive the 40 minutes back to our clean, soft beds. Because of various schedule conflicts, the only time we were able to go to Carpenteria Beach was today, Sunday. We arrived around 4pm and stayed until 9:30pm. What fun it was! We didn't really let Kyle go in the water this time, so things were much cleaner when we left. We played on the beach for a couple hours, then hung out at the campsites for hot dogs and dessert. Kyle, of course, enjoyed every free moment of running around with sticks. Kelly enjoyed the attention of her mom, and whined if anyone else tried to hold her. Not sure why she still likes me so much. Frankly, I'm just not that nice. All in all, it was a really fun Sunday. The weather could NOT have been nicer! Sunny (which is rare for our beaches in May), but not too hot. We even got to see the dolphins swim right near the coastline.
