A Day at the Beach

Ok, so maybe it was more like 3 hours. That's about all I could take with having to literally run after Kelly non-stop. For someone who refused to let a grain of sand touch her precious skin at the park the week before, she sure had no problem running along the beach. And the ocean? Yeah, just like her brother. Absolutely no fear. I even let a wave take her under (with me holding her hand, of course), but again, like her brother at that age, she squealed with delight, wanting more. She'd also get mad every time the tide went back out, wanting to go chase after it. Fun times for her, but not so much for me. But I feel it's part of my motherly duties...to take advantage of the beach being 20 minutes away, and our ward having a weekly play date there.

And apparently, Kyle knows how to boogie board. Go figure. How come he keeps growing up without my permission?! Does he have any idea the panic I keep hidden deep down inside when I watch him play so far out into the ocean? Does he even realize that his mom's heart rate hovers around 180 by just standing in the ocean water up to her calves? DOES HE?!

Just wait until he's driving. And dating. And driving and dating. And going away to college. . .It's enough to kill a mother!

Super cute pics, though!

do you even know how jelous i am of your proximity to a beach?

Kelli is a doll, btw. Sorry she runs you ragged. S screams bloody murder in the bath, i can only imagine his disdain for a beach. And Kyle's face is awesome!!
