Kyle: Can I stay up until 9?
Me: No. Why?
Kyle: So I can be up for when you turn off all the power for 60 seconds.
Me: Uh, no. And I'll be honest w/you, buddy. I'm not going to be doing it. I think it's kinda lame AND I'd miss the 1st minute of Lost.
Kyle: But the earth needs a break!
Me: (eye roll)
So Kelly potty-trained last week. (yay! I never knew it could be so easy) Anyway, today I guess Kyle was in the bathroom when she needed to go. She went into my room where the little potty is, took out the bowl, sat on it and peed. Through the bowl and onto my carpet. Doh!
Kelly's been talking in more "conversation" lately. It's great progress and fun for us. (although exhausting to always be trying to figure out) Like today when she tells me, "Kyle. Push. Body." Apparently Kyle pushed her.
Or when she told me, "Josh. Kelly. Scream. House." (she and her friend Josh like to scream in the playhouse at school) I asked her what Julie (her teacher) says -- "No, no no" (while shaking her finger)
She also has entire conversations between her and I without me even speaking. Usually in the backseat of the car or if she doesn't realize I'm around. Things like: "Kelly. Park? No. Why? Okay (in a completely defeated voice)." Or this one: "Kelly. Dinner. Hungry. McDonald's? Yeah. Burger. Yay! (arms flying up in delight)."
I realize most of this was about Kelly. Kyle's still funny, too. Some days. He did lose another tooth this week. That makes THREE upper/front teeth all missing. It's becoming one giant gap, poor kid. (the 2 top front teeth have been missing for over 2 YEARS now)

You didn't turn off all the power for 60 seconds???? I bet you use paper plates, too!
And does Kelly still say "durger"?
My paper plate consumption alone is probably the cause of global warming.
And no, she actually says it "burder"
She's seriously got the strangest pronunciations for things. Hence, my exhaustion from trying to figure it out all day.
Lol-- I love Kelly's conversations with herself.
Hey, it's Chad!
Kyle and Kelly are so cute!
For Kyle's teeth, you should probably have a dentist look at them. I had the same problem when I was younger, and it turned out my gums where too tough for my permanent teeth to come through. If they didn't do that, it could cause damage to the permanent teeth. No bueno. :(
Chad, Kyle sees the dentist twice/year. The xrays show the teeth are in there. And they've moved down each time (every 6 months) so he doesn't think there's a problem. Yet anyway. He just lost the tooth to the left of them, so that could mean they're finally pushing through now.
Hmmm... All right, he would certainally know more about teeth than and Air Traffic Controller! ;) Do we get to see pictures of the big toothless grin? :)
Love the stories! Your kids make me smile.
I'm dying at Kelly and her conversations with herself. That's awesome.
