Surprise!

We pulled off an AWESOME surprise for Kyle this past Friday. Our good friend Rob
came back to SoCal for his aunt's wedding. We didn't tell Kyle he was coming at all. Rob waited at our apartment while I picked Kyle up from school. When we got home, Rob hid on the back patio and I had Kyle call him. Rob somehow got him to go outside while still on the phone and that's where he surprised him. Kyle went from stunned to confused to excited to overwhelmed/fighting back some emotional tears. It was too sweet. Rob got to come watch Kyle test for his purple belt in karate and then we all went to dinner with our mutual good friends. Kyle was sad to have to say goodbye the next morning, but the fact that we'll be flying to TEXAS in 6 days to stay with Rob and his family has helped just a bit :)

And I can't tell you how excited we are to go visit in a week. Not only have we not had a real vacation in years, but in addition to getting to visit the Haros, my Gramma Jo will finally get to meet 2 of her great-grandchildren! My parents and sister are coming down from Colorado as well. I'm just wishing we'd planned to stay longer than 7 days.
